Radon Testing

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes up from the earth and into the home. Because we spend a lot of time with our windows closed, the radon can't get out easily. Radon causes cancer, especially lung cancer. We test for radon inside a home. If the tested levels are higher than the safe level according to the EPA, we recommend a radon mitigation system be installed in the home. These systems pump radon-rich air to the outside of the home, where it dissipates. By getting a house tested BEFORE you buy it, you may be able to get the seller to pay for the system. Roughly half of the homes we have tested in Indiana had high levels of radon. It's an inexpensive test; we strongly encourage you to have your home tested sooner than later.
